Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward became the first 2025 top-five pick to sign his contract. View the contract details below.

Cam Ward Signs First Contract

The Titans have signed the No. 1 overall pick.

Ward, who represented himself in the contract negotiations, agreed to a four-year deal worth $48.7 million. The contract is fully guaranteed and includes a fifth-year option.

“It’s a blessing,” Ward said via Titans.com. “I’m ready to get to work.”

Ward is now the first top-five selection from the 2025 NFL Draft to sign a contract with his respective team. Jacksonville’s Travis Hunter, New York’s Abdul Carter, New England’s Will Campbell, and Cleveland’s Mason Graham have not signed deals.

18 of the 32 players drafted in the first round have signed contracts.

After playing two seasons at Incarnate Word (2020-21) and Washington State (2022-23), Ward transferred to Miami for the 2024 season.

Ward led the nation in passing touchdowns with 39. The talented quarterback also threw 4,313 yards with a career-best 67.2 completion percentage.

Ward’s 158 passing touchdowns is a Division I (FBS/FCS) record.

Titans Do Not Have A Primetime Game In 2025

The NFL schedule-makers do not believe audiences want to watch Ward under the bright lights.

The Titans have zero primetime games on their 2025 schedule.

Last year’s No. 1 pick, Chicago’s Caleb Williams, played in primetime three times. Two years ago, the No. 1 pick, Carolina’s Bryce Young, had two primetime games.

NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt calls Ward the “most disrespected No. 1 quarterback pick” of his lifetime.

Ward will try to turn things around in Tennessee, who finished 3-14 a season ago.

While unconfirmed, Ward is the likely candidate to start in 2025. The Titans’ quarterback room consists of Ward, Will Levis, Kyle Allen, and Tim Boyle.

Ward and the Titans travel to Denver to play Bo Nix and the Broncos in Week 1.
