Carlos Alcaraz has announced that he and longtime coach Juan Carlos Ferrero are parting ways.
This is a shocking announcement at any time of the year but especially with the Australian Open one month away.
Alcaraz is the World No. 1, and Ferrero has been credited for being the impetus for his Grand Slam success.
In fact, the six-time Grand Slam champion has keen interest in winning the Australian Open so he could become the youngest player, at 22, to complete the career Grand Slam.
What Carlos Alcaraz Said
Alcaraz posted a lengthy social media announcement thanking JCF for everything he has done for him in the past seven years.
He commented on their accomplishments, and that they are ending their relationship at the highest point.
Alcaraz described “new adventures” and “new projects” for each of them.

Their relationship seemed to be stronger than coach and player so this will be a tremendous adjustment for both when the 2026 season kicks off.
