After a 10-5 start to the 2025-26 season, the Cavaliers are struggling to win consistently. As of Tuesday, December 23, Cleveland is 16-14, seventh in the East. The team is 4-6 in their last 10 games.Â
With the rough stretch as of late, Cavaliers players continue to be discussed in trade rumors. Two who are often brought up are Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. Both have missed extended time this season due to injury. Cavaliers insider Chris Fedor announced that the team is “reluctant” to part ways with either Darius Garland or Jarrett Allen.
Will the Cavs part ways with one of their all-star at the trade deadline?

The 2025-26 season has been filled with injuries for the Cavaliers. Key players have missed extended time early in the year. That includes Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. Garland has started 14 of the team’s 30 games this season. He missed the first seven games of the year and 13 of the team’s first 16 games. The 25-year-old has a lingering toe injury that he’s been trying to play through all year.
His points per game and field goal percentage are down compared to his stats from 2024-25. Cavaliers insider Chris Fedor reported that the team is “reluctant” to trade Garland. He is on the books for $39.4 million in 2025-26. Additionally, he is owed $87 million over the next two years.

Chrus Fedor said that Cleveland is also “reluctant” to trade center Jarrett Allen. He’s been with the team since the 2020-21 season, when he was traded by Brooklyn. Allen has been in and out of the lineup all season due to injuries. The 27-year-old has started 19 of the team’s 30 games. Additionally, Allen’s field goal percentage of .590 is the lowest of his career since his second season in the NBA. While Allen is not playing at his best, he’s still a key piece of the Cavs roster.
So is PG Darius Garland. On paper, the Cavs’ starting five is tough to beat. However, injuries have limited their availability in 2025-26. Donovan Mitchell is having to carry the team on a nightly basis. For now, the Cavs are hesitant to trade Darius Garland or Jarrett Allen. If the season starts to spiral quickly, the team could start to listen to trade offers.
