Kansas City heads to New Orleans to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl as the Chiefs try to three-peat.
Kansas City Chiefs Try To Make History
The Kansas City Chiefs are one win away from doing something no team in history has ever done. They are trying to win the Super Bowl for the third straight year.
They will face the Eagles in the Super Bowl, a very tough challenge. Kansas City struggled against James Cook in the AFC Championship game and will face an even tougher challenge in Saquon Barkley.
Kansas City needs to improve their run defense. Mahomes will also see heavy pressure as the Eagles attack opposing QBs.
Still, the Kansas City Chiefs have a significant edge in QB and coaching.
Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will spend the next two weeks coming up with a plan to try and slow down Saquon Barkley.
No team has been able to stop Barkley in the playoffs. Barkley has run for over 100 rushing yards in each playoff game.
Travis Kelce was quiet against the Bills but he should be much more involved against the Eagles. Philly’s defense allowed Zach Ertz to record 11 catches and 104 receiving yards in the NFC Championship game.
How Many Other Teams Have Had A Chance To Three-Peat In The Super Bowl?
With the Chiefs attempting to make history with a three-peat, let’s take a look back at how back-to-back Super Bowl champs have fared on their quest for a third straight championship.

The Dallas Cowboys (1994), San Francisco 49ers (1990), and Pittsburgh Steelers (1976) all came one win short of reaching the Big Game for the third consecutive season, Kansas City will be the first team in NFL history to reach the Super Bowl after winning back-to-back titles, giving them the first real opportunity to win three straight SB rings.
