There is no change at the top of the rankings. The first five teams — Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Georgia — remain in the top five spots.

This past weekend, Indiana escaped Happy Valley with a 27-24 victory at Penn State. With the win, the Hoosiers remain undefeated and remain poised to play Ohio State in the Big 10 Championship.

Texas Tech jumped from No. 8 to No. 6 after defeating BYU 29-7.

With BYU’s loss, Ohio State, Indiana, and Texas A&M are the only undefeated Power 4 teams.

Projected CFP Bracket

The College Football Playoff remains at 12 teams this season.

In 2024, the four highest-ranked conference champions received first-round byes. This year, the four highest-ranked teams, regardless of conference, will receive byes.

The five highest-ranked conference champions will receive automatic bids. Using this week’s rankings, those conference champions would be Ohio State (Big Ten), Texas A&M (SEC), Texas Tech (Big 12), Miami (ACC), and South Florida (AAC, the highest-ranked Group of Five champion).

The remaining seven teams in the bracket include Indiana, Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Oregon, Notre Dame, and Texas.

No. 11 Oklahoma and No. 12 BYU are the first two teams out of the bracket in this ranking.

First-round matchups:

  • No. 12 South Florida at No. 5 Georgia
  • No. 9 Notre Dame at No. 8 Oregon
  • No. 11 Miami at No. 6 Texas Tech
  • No. 10 Texas at No. 7 Ole Miss

Quarterfinals:

  • Winner of No. 12 South Florida at No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 4 Alabama
  • Winner of No. 9 Notre Dame at No. 8 Oregon vs. No. 1 Ohio State
  • Winner of No. 11 Miami at No. 6 Texas Tech vs. No. 3 Texas A&M
