The Washington Commanders received excellent injury news regarding Marshon Lattimore. The four-time Pro Bowl cornerback will play Sunday in Washington’s Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Commanders Get Marshon Lattimore Back For Sunday’s Game

After missing Washington’s final two regular season games with a left hamstring injury, Lattimore does not carry an injury designation and will play against the Bucs.

Lattimore was a full practice participant on Wednesday and Thursday before receiving Friday off for rest.

“I feel good. I don’t have no problems now,” Lattimore told reporters on Friday via NBC4Sports. “I won’t really know until I get out there all the way.”

Lattimore began the season with the New Orleans Saints. On November 5, the Saints traded Lattimore and a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Commanders for a third-round pick, a fourth-round pick, and a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Despite being acquired in November, Lattimore did not make his Commanders’ debut until Dec. 15. In that game, Washington played his former team, the Saints.

Lattimore played against the Eagles on Jan. 22 but reinjured his hamstring in the fourth quarter and left the game.

Marshon Lattimore’s Rivalry With Mike Evans

With Lattimore in the lineup, he will match up against Bucs star Mike Evans.

Lattimore has an intense rivalry with Evans that dates back to his days on the Saints. Evans and Lattimore fought in 2017 and 2022, with the Bucs wideout receiving a one-game suspension for each fight.

In 2022, Lattimore was hit with a $10,500 fine for pushing Evans in the back.

“It is what it is,” Lattimore says when it comes to his history with Evans, and he’s just trying to “help the team win.” Lattimore even welcomes the challenge of guarding Evans, who finished the regular season with 74 receptions for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns.

“It’s the best vs. the best. That’s what I look forward to, going against the top opponents,” Lattimore said. “I don’t want nobody to be like, ‘Oh, [this receiver] wasn’t really that good.’ I want people that’s known to be good and see how I line up against them.”

The Bucs host the Commanders on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
