After a 12-5 season, the Washington Commanders enter the 2025 NFL Draft wanting to add players that will help them avenge their playoff loss and reach the Super Bowl. View the Commanders’ picks, team needs, targets, and mock draft.

Washington Commanders Draft Picks

For the first time in a long time, the Commanders nailed the head coach and quarterback.

Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels helped lead the Commanders to the NFC Championship for the first time since 1991

With an elite quarterback, the Commanders can use their five draft picks to improve the roster.

2025 NFL Draft: Washington Commanders Picks

  • Round 1: No. 29
  • Round 2: No. 61
  • Round 4: No. 128
  • Round 6: No. 205
  • Round 7: No. 245

2025 NFL Draft: Washington’s Team Needs

Edge Rusher

Quinn was pivotal in Washington’s defensive resurgence, ranking 13th in yards allowed per game (327.9).

Now, the Commanders must improve at edge rusher, arguably the weakest position on their defense.

Dante Fowler Jr., who led the Commanders with 10.5 sacks in 2024, signed with the Cowboys in free agency. No other defensive lineman on the Commanders recorded over five sacks last season. Washington needs to find a legitimate threat off the edge.

Cornerback

Washington made one of the biggest moves at last year’s trade deadline by acquiring Marshon Lattimore from the Saints.

Lattimore barely played due to injury, but he should be healthy to start the season.

The Commanders have seven corners on the roster, but they need a bigger defensive back to pair with Lattimore.

Running Back

Drafting a running back is more of a future play for the Commanders.

Brian Robinson Jr., Austin Ekeler, and Jeremy McNichols return for another season. However, none of these running backs are signed beyond 2025.

Snagging a mid-round running back might be on Washington’s agenda.
