Cowboys Sign Dante Fowler Jr.

It’s a reunion in Dallas.

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Fowler is signing a one-year contract worth $6 million. Fowler can make up to $8 million with incentives.

Fowler previously played for the Cowboys in 2022 and 2023 before signing with the Washington Commanders for less than $5 million in 2024.

Fowler, 30, followed former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to Washington.

Fowler thrived in Washington, recording 10.5 sacks and becoming one of the Commanders’ best edge rushers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Fowler in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

After three and a half seasons with the Jaguars, Fowler was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in October 2018.

In 2019, Fowler set his career high in sacks with 11.5 as a member of the Rams. Fowler then spent two seasons in Atlanta before signing with the Cowboys in 2022.

Dallas Loses DeMarcus Lawrence In Free Agency

Earlier this week, Lawrence left the Cowboys in free agency to sign with the Seattle Seahawks.

Lawrence signed a three-year, $42 million contract, with $18 million guaranteed.

Lawrence only recorded three sacks in four games before a season-ending injury in 2024.

On his way out, Lawrence took a shot at the Cowboys, saying that he left because he would never win a Super Bowl in Dallas.

Lawrence’s former teammate Micah Parsons took exception to the comments on social media and wrote, “This what rejection and envy look like! This some clown s—!”

Lawrence responded, “Calling me a clown won’t change the fact that I told the truth. Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left.”

Unfortunately for NFL fans, the Cowboys and Seahawks do not play each other during the 2025 NFL regular season.
