Defensive end Maxx Crosby gets low on a play.

The Dallas Cowboys could be in the market for an elite pass rusher. Will Cowboys owner Jerry Jones attempt to trade for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby or Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson?

Jones knows his defense needs an elite edge rusher and is trying to acquire one ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline.

The two top edge rushers who might be on the market are Crosby and Hendrickson. According to Jay Glazer, the two star pass rushers are not for sale.

“Dallas is trying. They’ve actually called around,” Glazer said about Jones trying to get an edge rusher via FOX NFL Sunday. “They called the Raiders for Maxx Crosby, was told no. They called the Bengals for Trey Hendrickson, was told no. They are calling around for help on defense.”

Crosby has not requested a trade from the Raiders. In fact, Glazer said Crosby does not want to leave Las Vegas.

“There was one team that called me and say, ‘Hey, could you find out [about Crosby’s status]?’ I told them, ‘No, he doesn’t want to go,'” Glazer said. “The team said, ‘Man, we’d love him. His loyalty [is strong]. We wish it wasn’t, though.'”

Crosby has 28 total tackles, four sacks, one forced fumble, and an interception in seven games this season.

In March, Crosby signed a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension with the Raiders that keeps him under contract through the 2029 season.

The Cowboys trading for Hendrickson makes much more sense due to the contract situation. Hendrickson agreed to a restructured deal that pays him $30 million this season. Hendrickson will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Hendrickson has 16 total tackles and four sacks.

The veteran defensive end left Sunday’s game early with a hip injury.

Dallas Cowboys’ Defense Continues to Struggle

The Cowboys’ defense remains their greatest weakness.

The Cowboys’ defense is 30th in scoring defense (29.4 points per game), 32nd in total defense (401.6 yards per game), and pass defense (260.3 yards per game).

Without Micah Parsons, who the Cowboys traded to the Green Bay Packers before the start of the season, Dallas has an inferior pass rush. The Cowboys are 21st in pass rush win rate (37%) and 16th in sacks (15).

The Cowboys (3-4-1) host the Arizona Cardinals (2-5) in Week 9.
