Anaheim Ducks left winger Cutter Gauthier of Skelleftea, Sweden recorded his first National Hockey League hat trick on Tuesday. He accomplished the feat in a 7-3 Ducks win over the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers on Tuesday. It was actually part of a four-point night for Gauthier, which also a career-high.

Gauthier opened the scoring at 3:09 of the first period. Leo Carlsson of Karlstad, Sweden had the lone assist. Gauthier then put the Ducks up 2-1 with four minutes and 43 seconds left in the first period on the power-play. Troy Terry of Denver, Colorado had the assist. Gauthier then tied the game at three on the power-play with four minutes and 24 seconds left in the second period. Defenseman Jackson LaCombe of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Carlsson had the assists.

Gauthier helped set up defenseman Jacob Trouba of Rochester, Michigan at 11:43 of the third period. Trouba’s goal was an insurance marker as he put the Ducks up 5-3 at the time.

Gauthier has 10 goals and six assists for 16 points in 12 games. He is a +9 with 10 penalty minutes, four power-play goals, one game-winning goal, 58 shots on goal, eight faceoff wins, four blocked shots, 12 hits, one takeaway and 10 giveaways.
Game-winning goal
Gauthier scored his only game-winning goal of the season on October 21 in a 5-2 Ducks win over the Nashville Predators on October 21. Gauthier scored from Trouba with four minutes and 43 seconds left in the second period. The Ducks took the 3-1 lead at the time.
Takeaway
Gauthier’s takeaway came on Sunday in a 4-1 Ducks win over the New Jersey Devils. It was the Ducks’s third win of their current four game-winning streak.
Leading the NHL in goals
Gauthier leads the NHL with 10 goals. He is tied with Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers, Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche, Jack Hughes of the New Jersey Devils, and Cole Caufield of the Montreal Canadiens.
Represents USA internationally
Despite being born in Sweden, Gauthier was raised in Arizona, and represents the United States internationally. Gauthier won a gold medal for the United States at the 2024 World Junior Hockey Championship and the 2025 World Hockey Championship. Both tournaments ironically happened in Sweden.
