Dallas Cowboys Next Coach Odds If Mike McCarthy Is Fired

After the Cowboys fell to 3-6 after Sunday’s embarrassing 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, debates over McCarthy’s job security have intensified.
This is the final year of McCarthy’s contract, meaning Jerry Jones can move on from his head coach at the end of the season without firing him. However, Jones could fire McCarthy now to get a head start on the coaching search, though he would have to pay the remainder of the salary.
McCarthy has had tremendous regular-season success with the Cowboys. After a 6-10 campaign in 2020, McCarthy led the Cowboys to three consecutive 12-5 seasons.
However, the Cowboys lost in the NFC Wild Card game twice and the NFC Divisional Round once. The Cowboys have not been to the NFC Championship in nearly 30 years.

Odds via BetOnline on 11/11/24.
Per BetOnline, former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel (+300) is the favorite to become the Cowboys’ next head coach. Vrabel is currently a coaching and personnel consultant for the Cleveland Browns.
Detroit Lions Ben Johnson (+500) is behind Vrabel as the next favorite. Johnson will likely be the hottest coaching candidate this offseason. Johnson did not take a coaching job last hiring cycle, so expect him to be patient this offseason, too.
Could Bill Belichick (+600) get the Cowboys back to the NFC Championship? The second-winningest coach in NFL history wants to coach again. The Cowboys need a culture reset, and no coach is better at creating a winning program than Belichick.
