Deshaun Watson contract, Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns, cap hit

For months, NFL fans have speculated whether Leroy Bickerstaff, an outspoken X user, is Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.  Bickerstaff always speaks kindly of Watson to his 11,400 followers while regularly referring to him by his number (4).  The Bickerstaff Twitter account was created in September 2024.

Watson took time out from recovering from his season-ending injuries to comment as Bickerstaff about Watson’s status for next season.

What Leroy Bickerstaff (Deshaun Watson) Said

The Leroy Bickerstaff account responded to an NFL Rumors tweet stating that the Falcons would be interested in Watson if he became available. Watson said, “Man 4 wanted to go to the A last time around, let’s make it happen… that teams ready to go just need 4 running.”  The Atlanta Falcons were indeed interested in Deshaun Watson in 2022.

In three seasons with the Browns, Watson has played in just 19 games earning a 9-10 record.  He has passed for 3,365 yards throwing 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Deshaun Watson could be saying he is ready to go elsewhere to revive his NFL career.  In March 2022, before the Browns pulled off the surprise trade, most fans thought the Gainsville, Georgia native was headed to the Atlanta Falcons.

The Browns have not officially moved off Watson. Some fans are angry that the Browns have not said they will cut ties with Watson and have threatened to cancel their season tickets for next season.
