This all kicked off on Twitter/X after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones blamed Roc Nation for mishandling Dez Bryant’s contract back in 2015. Dez responded, threatening to “have story time” about how things really went down. Nicki Minaj, who has her own issues with Roc Nation, Jay-Z, and CEO Desiree Perez, jumped into the conversation, unprompted. She accused Dez of beating his mother, referencing a 2012 arrest that was later dismissed.
Bryant fired back, denying the charge and saying he removed his mother’s nails from his arm during an argument. He then went after Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, calling him a “sex offender,” which is legally accurate. Petty was convicted of attempted rape in 1995 and later pled guilty to manslaughter. His failure to register as a sex offender in California led to probation and house arrest in 2022.
Minaj, escalating further, challenged Bryant to fight Petty for $10 million in cash. Bryant didn’t hesitate to accept.
