The Miami Dolphins traveled to Madrid, Spain for their Week 11 game against the Washington Commanders, marking the first ever NFL game played in the country. Miami picked up the victory and spoke to the media afterward, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa mentioned which international city he would like to play in next.
Dolphins Win; Tua Gives The NFL A Suggestion For The Future
The NFL International Series dates all the way back to 2007. London, England has been a regular and yearly host ever since, and the series has expanded almost exponentially over the past few seasons. There are now multiple games in the UK every year, and other countries are getting in on the action, as well. Just this year, additional games have been played in Brazil, Germany, and now Spain.
The program shows no signs of slowing down. A new country will be added to the list in 2026, as a game is scheduled to be played in Melbourne, Australia, and rumors of a Mexico City game are alive and well.
Tua Tagovailoa is asked where he'd like to play next overseas after experiencing Frankfurt and Madrid:
"Shoot, it'd be pretty cool to go play in Jerusalem. That'd be sick."#PhinsUp pic.twitter.com/4YJt7VwGof

Tagovailoa thinks another location should be under consideration. When asked about his experience in Spain and which country he would like to play in next, he had an interesting answer:
“Shoot, it would be pretty cool to go play in Jerusalem. That’d be sick.”
There is no plan for the NFL to expand the International Series to the troubled region in Israel, nor should there be at this point.
With the victory, the Dolphins have now won 3 of their last 4 games, and are sitting at 4-7 heading into their bye week. Counted out almost completely just a few weeks back, they are still well outside of the playoff picture, but do have a glimmer of hope.

When they return to action in Week 13, they will be taking on the New Orleans Saints, which is followed by a game against the New York Jets.
Tagovailoa completed 14 of his 20 passes on Sunday and totaled 171 passing yards. He didn’t throw an touchdown nor an interception.
