Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London received a positive injury update.

Drake London Positive Injury Update

The Falcons might have their best wide receiver in the lineup this weekend.

London is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

London has missed the last four games with a knee sprain. The talented wide receiver was a limited participant in Wednesday and Thursday’s practices. However, London sat out Friday’s practice.

Despite being listed as questionable, Falcons coach Raheem Morris was direct with his answer about London’s status.

“He’s playing,” Morris said.

Even though the Falcons have been eliminated from playoff contention, London still wants to finish the season with his teammates.

“I’ve been scratching and clawing to play every game this season,” London said on Thursday via Falcons.com. “A lot of people don’t know that, but the season hasn’t been too well on my body. So, could be a blessing in disguise that this happened. I don’t know, but just trying to fight back and get out there on the field.”

Before this four-game absence, London had previously only missed one game since entering the league in 2022.

London has 60 receptions for 810 yards and six touchdowns. London will try to eclipse the 1,000-yard receiving mark before the season ends. If he does that, it will be his second consecutive 1,000-yard season.

“I have very, very big aspirations, especially when it comes to injuries and stuff like that,” London said. “I want to get back out there quick as possible. But everything is going smoothly. I’ve been making good strides and leaps. That’s all I can ask for.”

London added, “I want to play as much football as I possibly can until it’s done for this year.”

Falcons Have Serious Questions to Answer This Offseason

The Falcons picked up London’s fifth-year option for 2026, and they will likely try to work on an extension this offseason.

London’s job security is secure. However, the team has huge question marks at quarterback and coach.

Atlanta used a first-round pick on Michael Penix Jr. in 2024. In November, the 25-year-old underwent season-ending surgery on a partially torn ACL.

Penix, who has experienced multiple ACL tears, may not be ready for the start of the season. If that’s the case, does the team keep Kirk Cousins on the roster?

All signs pointed to Atlanta cutting Cousins this offseason. The Penix injury adds an interesting development. Could Cousins remain with the Falcons for at least one more year? He’s under contract through 2027.

Then, there’s the coach. Morris is 13-18 in two seasons since being hired as the head coach in 2024. Morris’s career head coaching record is 34-56.

Would the Falcons consider moving on from Morris this offseason?

Before these questions are answered, the Falcons must first face the Arizona Cardinals on Dec. 21.
