The Philadelphia Eagles may have dodged a major bullet with the injury to guard Landson Dickerson.
Landon Dickerson Injury Update
Best-case scenario: Eagles Pro-Bowl guard Landon Dickerson will undergo what’s being described as “a minor procedure” on the meniscus in his right knee in the coming days. Dickerson then will be considered week to week, with the goal of returning for the Thursday night, Sept. 4… https://t.co/YyVFJP5uhT

The Eagles nearly lost their Pro Bowl guard on Sunday night. Dickerson suffered a right leg injury on Sunday night during the team’s open practice at Lincoln Financial Field.
Dickerson injured his leg while pass blocking for Jalen Hurts, who dumped the ball off to Saquon Barkley in the flat. Dickerson went to the ground and stayed there for several minutes. Dickerson was helped off the field by his teammates and carted to the locker room.
At first, the initial thought was a serious leg injury, like a torn ACL. Earlier today, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Dickerson is thought to have suffered a meniscus injury in his right knee.
Now, the severity of the injury has decreased significantly after it was reported that Dickerson will only need a “minor procedure” to clean up the meniscus injury.
There is now optimism that Dickerson could be ready to play in the team’s regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4. For now, Dickerson is considered week-to-week.
If Dickerson misses time, the Eagles are working Brett Toth into the lineup.

While no injury is ever good, this minor procedure is certainly the best-case scenario for the Eagles.
Dickerson is an integral part of arguably the best offensive line in football.
With the addition of running back Saquon Barkley, the Eagles’ ground game became the best in the NFL. Barkley became the ninth player in NFL history to rush for at least 2,000 yards in a season. Barkley finished his 2024 campaign with 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.
Barkley led the NFL in carries, touches, and scrimmage yards.
The talented running back finished the season — regular season and playoffs — with an NFL record 2,504 rushing yards.
The Eagles’ offensive line has also mastered the “tush push.” Per Eagles.com, the Eagles converted 39 of 48 tush-push attempts (81.3%).
The Eagles are favored to repeat as NFC Champions heading into this season. If Dickerson misses little to no time, the Eagles’ offense will be a force again.
