The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions. Fresh off a Super Bowl parade, the offseason starts now for the Eagles. What are the Eagles’ team needs? These are the five positions to target in the NFL Draft and free agency.

Linebacker

Had Saquon Barkley not rushed for 2,000 yards, Zack Baun would be considered the Eagles’ best signing of the 2024 offseason.

Baun signed a one-year deal last offseason with the Eagles. Fast forward to now. Baun was a first-team All-Pro and Defensive Player of the Year finalist.

Baun will be a free agent and should receive a significant raise.

The Eagles can solve their linebacker issue by simply re-signing Baun, who wants to remain in Philadelphia. If Baun walks, general manager Howie Roseman will have to find another diamond in the rough this offseason.

Offensive Line

Mekhi Becton was considered a bust after he struggled with the New York Jets.

Becton signed with the Eagles last offseason and switched from tackle to guard.

The move paid off, as Becton logged the fifth most snaps this season for the Eagles.

Becton, who turns 26 soon, could be worthy of a long-term contract. If the Eagles let him walk, Roseman will likely draft some offensive lineman to replace Becton.

Meanwhile, Lane Johnson has to be on retirement watch because of his age (34). Johnson is expected to return, but retirement can’t be ruled out.

Edge Rusher

The Eagles’ defensive line was one of the primary reasons for their dominance in Super Bowl LIX.

Josh Sweat led the team with 2.5 sacks in the 40-22 win.

Sweat could not have played a better game at a crucial time as he enters free agency.

With teams always looking for pass rushers, Sweat could command a deal that reaches $20 million annually.

One of Sweat’s running mates, Brandon Graham, is contemplating retirement.

Expect the Eagles to add at least one more pass rusher this offseason.

Cornerback

The Eagles could be losing two cornerbacks via salary cap casualties.

James Bradberry and Darius Slay do not have any guaranteed money left in their deals, making them prime candidates to be released.

The emergence of cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean makes Bradberry and Slay expendable.

Bradberry is likely getting cut, and Slay is more of a toss-up. Either way, the Eagles need to draft or sign some cornerbacks.

Defensive Tackle

This is simply a Milton Williams conversation.

Williams is one of the rare tackles who can stop the run and pressure on the quarterback, as evidenced by his two sacks in the Super Bowl.

Williams could command a massive extension, with multiple teams lining up to pry him away from the Eagles.

If the Eagles lose Williams, they will look to the draft for his replacement.
