Eli Manning, New York Giants

Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is “at peace” after his exclusion from the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.

Eli Responds to Hall Of Fame Omission

At last night’s NFL Honors, Manning was not one of the four players to hear his name called for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This was Manning’s first year on the ballot.

On Friday’s edition of Good Morning Football, Manning spoke about his omission from the Hall of Fame. The classy Manning showed humility and congratulated this year’s class.

“I’m excited for those guys that got in. All of them are so deserving,” Manning said on GMFB. “Happy for them. Texted a few of them, the guys that I knew and just congratulated them.”

Manning’s Hall of Fame case is one of the most polarizing to date. The former No. 1 pick is best known for leading the New York Giants to two Super Bowl wins over the New England Patriots and two Super Bowl MVPs.

Manning and the Giants prevented the Patriots from achieving a 19-0 season after their upset victory in Super Bowl XLII.

Manning finished his career with a career record of 117-117. Manning threw for 57,023 yards (11th all-time) and 366 touchdowns (11th all-time).

However, Manning finished his career with 244 interceptions and was never considered the best at his position while playing.

Manning sensed he wasn’t getting in this year, which would’ve been a nice accomplishment in his hometown of New Orleans. However, Manning won’t let this decision define his career.

“I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be my night, and I understand that,” Manning said. “And I’m totally at peace. It’s not going to change my outlook of my career and how I feel about it.”

Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025

Four players were selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The 2025 class includes tight end Antonio Gates, cornerback Eric Allen, defensive end Jared Allen, and wide receiver Sterling Sharpe. Gates, Allen, and Allen were three modern-era candidates, while Sharpe was a senior finalist.

Manning will likely get into the Hall of Fame one day. As ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on Friday’s Get Up, “You can’t write the history of the sport in recent years without Eli Manning, which is why he’s gonna go [to the Hall of Fame]. He just didn’t go in his first year of eligibility.”

The 2026 class of first-time nominees includes Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, Jason Witten, Frank Gore, and Philip Rivers.
