Per TMZ Sports, the attorney says he is “proud of Delonte as he has used this process to seek out help and been released on bond to a treatment facility. We all look forward to his continued progress, and Delonte is particularly appreciative of the numerous thoughts and well wishes over the last several weeks.”
West is due back in court in March.
West Has Had Multiple Run-Ins With The Law
In November 2025, West was arrested after being found unconscious.
When cops offered to take him to the hospital, he refused, so they put him in cuffs for his own safety because he had a high blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level.
West was also arrested twice a couple of years ago.
In June 2024, West was apprehended by the police while they were trying to serve a warrant on him for violating the conditions of his release and resisting arrest.
Fairfax County police made contact with West around 1 a.m. on June 6, 2024, in Groveton. West, however, decided to run from officers, resulting in a pursuit and a resisting arrest charge.
Then in November, he was booked after being accused of trespassing.
The FCPD says the allegations were reported on Nov. 1, 2024, shortly after a person reported that West refused to leave an area in Huntington that he was banned from.
According to the police report, the FCPD said they found West walking near the Huntington Metro on Nov. 2, 2024, at around 8:48 p.m. He was placed in cuffs and held on a $1,000 bond.
West Played Eight NBA Seasons
West was selected 24th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2004 NBA draft out of Saint Joseph’s.
He played eight seasons for the Celtics (2004-07), Seattle SuperSonics (2007-08 season), Cleveland Cavaliers (2008-2010), and Dallas Mavericks (2011-12 season).
The Washington, D.C. native was waived by the Mavs on Oct. 29, 2012.
In 432 career NBA regular-season games (258 starts), West averaged 9.7 points, 3.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 27.4 minutes per outing while shooting 44.8% from the field and 37.2% from 3-point range.
In addition, West played for the Fujian Xunxing and Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. He also spent time with the Texas Legends of the NBA Development League (now G League).
