Atlanta Falcons fans have launched a petition to fire head coach Raheem Morris immediately following another embarrassing 37-9 loss at home versus the Seattle Seahawks.
Nearly 2,000 fans have already signed the petition, which continues to gain steam as frustration mounts for a fan base that hasn’t witnessed a playoff game since the 2017-18 season.
“As a franchise that has only had 14 winning seasons in its 60-year existence, the Falcons have had their fair share of bad head coaches, including Dan Henning, Marion Campbell, and the infamous Bobby Petrino,” the petition reads. “Raheem Morris ranks near the top of this infamous group of losers.”
Morris’ Tenure In Atlanta Has Been Marked By Disappointment
Atlanta has dropped to 4-9 despite winning three of its first five games of the season and has officially been eliminated from playoff contention.
In two-plus seasons as the Falcons head coach, Morris has compiled a disappointing 16-25 overall record. He owns a career 33-56 overall record in six seasons as an NFL head coach and his .371 winning percentage is the eighth-worst all-time among coaches who have been on the sidelines for at least 80 games.
While Morris has been under fire from the fan base, he told reporters after Sunday’s game that he has complete support from owner Arthur Blank. “He is 100% in support of me,” Morris said. “Support isn’t an issue.”
Morris also said that there is no plan in place to fire coordinators, adding that staff changes are irrelevant at this point in this season.
Will Raheem Morris Be Fired At The End of the Season?
With the Falcons officially out of playoff contention and fan frustration boiling over, the question now isn’t just whether Morris can turn things around — it’s whether he deserves the chance.
Atlanta’s patience is wearing thin, and unless something dramatic happens, the call for change is only going to get louder.
If Morris isn’t fired, offensive coordinator Zac Robinson could be on the hook for the team’s offensive struggles.
The Falcons rank 27th in the NFL in scoring at 19.4 points per game and scored 10 points or fewer four times. Atlanta has also converted on just 31% of its third downs this season, the second-worst mark in the NFL.
For Falcons fans, enough is enough, and the countdown for change has already begun
