Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who the Indianapolis Colts should try to acquire.

After missing the first four days, Terry McLaurin finally showed up to Washington Commanders training camp on Sunday. But the veteran wide receiver is not quite ready to hit the field yet due to an ongoing contract dispute with the team, which one former star player is hoping gets resolved soon.

Santana Moss Delivers A Message To The Commanders

McLaurin has been one of the most consistent wide receivers in the NFL during his time in the league, and he wants to be paid like it. He is entering the final year of his contract with Washington, one that will pay him $19.65 million in 2025, which would rank 15th among all wide receivers. The overall annual value of his contract ranks 17th at the position, and McLaurin would like to see those numbers rise before he hits the field for the Commanders.

In response to the stalemate in negotiations, McLaurin has been vocal about his desires. He’s made at apparent with his participation, too, as he was absent from the first four days of training camp. And while he was finally present on Sunday, he is listed on the PUP list with an apparent ankle injury that he sustained last season.

He’s now considered a “hold in” rather than a hold out, but one of the franchise’s former stars is hoping for an end to the situation completely. In an interview with SportsCenter, Commanders Ring-Of-Fame member Santana Moss commented on McLaurin’s negotiations:

“Respectfully, just pay him. I just want to see him here, man…When it comes to ownership, I understand its deeper than just paying somebody, but I know that these guys think the world of Terry.”

Since posting 919 receiving yards in his rookie season in 2019, Terry McLaurin has gone over 1,000 yards every year since. He has played and started in all 17 games in each of the past four seasons, making him not only one of the most consistent wide receivers, but one of the most reliable as well.

He had arguably his best season in 2024, as he caught a career-high 13 touchdown passes as the primary target for a team that made it all the way to the NFC Championship game.
