George Pickens

The Pittsburgh Steelers traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys in May.

The Steelers were not going to give Pickens a second contract, so they dealt him to Dallas.

If training camp is any indication, Pickens appears to be on track to make the Steelers regret trading him.

Pickens has been having a very strong camp with the Cowboys. He has been making big plays, it seems like every day of training camp thus far.

Here are some plays Pickens has made during training camp.

Pickens adds a major dimension to Dallas’ offense, giving them a big-time WR2 behind Lamb. This is something Dallas lacked last season.

George Pickens Makes Dallas’ Offense Much Better

George Pickens has all the talent in the world. What hurt him in Pittsburgh was his lack of maturity and QB play.

Now, with the Cowboys, Pickens gets to play with a good QB in Dak Prescott.

The pressure of being a WR1 is gone this year as Lamb is one of the best wide receivers in the league.

Pickens is arguably the most talented and best WR2 in the league. He has the talent to be a team’s best wideout and will face a ton of single coverage this season. With Lamb commanding a double team from most teams, this will leave Pickens in a lot of one-on-one situations. Pickens will thrive in a lot of these situations.

Dallas Can Be A Top Five Offense In 2025

Pickens makes Dallas’ offense much improved. There was no real threat in the passing game outside of Lamb last year. It remains to be seen how Dallas’ run game will be, but teams will be unable to stack the box against the Cowboys in 2025. This will leave a lot of room for running backs to take advantage of.

The problem is, Dallas does not have a true starting RB. They have Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders, and rookie Jaydon Blue. There have been reports that Blue is starting to see first-team reps in training camp, indicating he may be the starting running back sooner than later. Williams and Sanders do not have a good track record as a starting back. If Blue can show he is capable of being a starter and being efficient, this will just be another boost to an already good offense.

With a trio of Lamb, Pickens, and Jake Ferguson, Dallas has a dangerous trio in the passing game.

Dallas’ success or lack thereof in 2025 will highly depend on Dak Prescott. If Prescott can remain healthy, the sky is the limit for this offense.

It may just be training camp, but from the looks of it, the Dallas Cowboys are poised to have one of the most dangerous offenses in the league in 2025.

Remaining healthy will be critical for the Cowboys as Prescott missed a lot of time last year, as did many key players.

Fully healthy, the Cowboys are a dangerous team and are capable of surprising a lot of people and winning the NFC East.
