Georgia vs. Alabama Expert Pick, Prediction, & Best Bets
Georgia vs. Alabama marks one of the most anticipated regular season showdowns on the 2024 college football slate. What are the Expert picks, predictions, and best bets for Georgia vs. Alabama?
Kirby Smart leads the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs into Bryant-Denny Stadium, a place that has eluded them since 2007. The weight of history and expectation hangs in the Alabama air. Georgia enters confidently, fresh off a gritty, hard-fought one-point win over Kentucky in their SEC opener. But they know, in Tuscaloosa, confidence alone isn’t enough.
On the opposite sideline, a new era dawns in crimson. In his first season at the helm, Kalen DeBoer has Alabama off to a blistering 3-0 start. DeBoer has maintained dominance by handing the keys to the Tide after the legendary Nick Saban’s retirement, outscoring opponents 147-26. The question now: Can Alabama’s new leader keep that momentum against the reigning champs?

Georgia vs. Alabama Featured Players
Expect the lights to shine brightest in Tuscaloosa this Saturday when Georgia and Alabama, two college football giants, face off in a highly anticipated showdown. At the heart of this battle are two of the most poised quarterbacks in the country, both leading their teams with precision and purpose.
Carson Beck has emerged as a steady hand for Georgia, throwing for 680 yards and seven touchdowns without a single interception this season. His calm demeanor in the pocket belies the weight of his responsibility as he leads a Bulldog team hungry to reverse recent history. On the other side, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe has proven just as electric, tallying 394 passing yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions. But it’s Milroe’s legs that add another layer of danger. Leading the Tide with 81 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground, he has the potential to break the game wide-open with one swift move.
As far as upside goes, Jalen Milroe might have more than any QB I’ve seen in the 2025 draft class.
Great athlete, nice arm, serious flashes of accuracy. Why he’s barely in QB1 conversations in a weak QB class is beyond me. pic.twitter.com/hl21fPB3G5

Alabama’s backfield boasts more firepower in the form of Justice Haynes and Jam Miller, who have combined for four rushing touchdowns. At the same time, Georgia counters with its dynamic duo of Trevor Etienne and Nate Frazier. As each team’s ground attack looks to establish dominance, both offenses also feature plenty of playmakers in the air. Freshman Ryan Williams has quickly become a red-zone favorite for Alabama, having received three touchdowns. At the same time, Georgia spreads the wealth, with six players finding the end zone this season.
Prediction for Georgia vs. Alabama
This marks the first regular-season meeting between these two titans since Alabama’s commanding 41-24 win in 2020, a season that saw the Tide roll to a perfect 13-0 record and a national championship. Alabama has taken two of the last three meetings, including last year’s 27-24 victory in the SEC Championship. This game not only handed Georgia its first loss but also shattered their College Football Playoff hopes.
If Georgia flips the script, it will all start with Carson Beck. He’ll need to rebound from a shaky performance against Kentucky, where he was held to just 160 passing yards. With star offensive guard Tate Ratledge sidelined, Georgia’s offensive line will face a daunting task in keeping the pocket clean against a fierce Alabama front.
For Alabama, the formula revolves around Jalen Milroe’s ability to stay composed and protect the football—just as he did in last year’s SEC Championship win. Milroe’s legs may very well be the difference-maker, as Georgia’s defense, anchored by Jalon Walker and Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, looks to contain him. It’s a game that will likely come down to the trenches and whichever quarterback can rise above the pressure late.
In a clash where offensive fireworks are expected, don’t be surprised if a defensive battle decides the outcome. With the SEC title implications looming large as the clock winds down, one big play could make all the difference. And in Bryant-Denny Stadium, with Alabama hitting its stride and Milroe leading the charge, the Tide may have just enough to pull out a massive victory at home.
The Prediction: Alabama 24, Georgia 20
Best Bet: Alabama +1
