Green Bay Residents Selling Driveways As Parking Spots For 2025 NFL Draft

The eyes of the football world will be focused in on Green Bay on Thursday night as the 2025 NFL Draft makes its way to Eastern Wisconsin. The “city” with a population of 106,000 is by far the smallest location that the annual event has ever been held in, and local residents are making a quick buck by making their driveways available for parking for draft attendees.

Easily the smallest market in the NFL, there have been some logistics questions when it comes to Green Bay hosting the draft. But city leaders and officials have given assurance that there are plenty of hotels and accommodations available to the public, and there haven’t been any notable issues in the days leading up to the big event.
Parking for the thousands of attendees could be an issue, but Green Bay residents are providing a small solution. A video posted to social media on Thursday shows that people who live within walking distance of Lambeau Field and the draft headquarters offering their driveways as parking spots. Most of the makeshift signs shown in the video display a price of $100 for a spot, though there was a $160 offer shown. One showed a discounted price of $80, as well.

It is unknown how many people the NFL expects to descend upon Green Bay, but it likely won’t be breaking the record that was set last year. For the 2024 version of the event, it was estimated that 775,000 people attended in Detroit, Michigan.
The NFL Draft was held in New York City for 50 years in a row, a trend that was bucked in 2015. It has since been held in nine different locations, including Green Bay this year. Next year’s event is scheduled to take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There are no other locations announced for future iterations.
