In the Hard Knocks trailer released on Tuesday, the Giants are preparing for their upcoming 100th season as a franchise.
Coming off a disappointing 6-11 campaign in 2023-2024, the Giants entered the offseason with major needs at key positions, such as pass rusher and receiver.
The footage teases two of the Giants’ biggest moves this past offseason: trading for Carolina Panthers edge rusher Brian Burns and drafting LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The health of quarterback Daniel Jones will be a major storyline in the show. The former first-round pick is coming off a season-ending knee injury and will look to bounce back this fall.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll understands the pressure to succeed in the New York market.
“When you win here, it’s unlike anywhere else,” Daboll says in the trailer. “If you lose, they’re going to be on your asses. That’s New York, man.”
Hard Knocks Trailer Teases Saquon Barkley’s Departure
57 seconds in, #Giants GM Joe Schoen says to Saquon Barkley, "Can you give us your word on that or are you not going to give us a chance?"
This show might be much better than I expected.
My reporting is NYG never made Barkley an offer all offseason. And that call happened… https://t.co/kPMRl4FKlW

This past offseason, free agent running back Saquon Barkley elected to leave the Giants to sign with the team’s division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Barkley, the No. 2 pick in 2018, signed a three-year, $37.5 million contract with the Eagles in March.
In May, Barkley said he never got an offer to return to the Giants. However, the trailer features a short clip of Giants general manager Joe Schoen speaking with Barkley on the phone about his future.
“Saquon, can you give me your word on that, or are you not going to give us a chance,” Schoen says in the trailer.
The truth behind Barkley’s departure will be revealed when Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants premieres on July 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and Max.
