Harriet Dart

For tennis fans who thought they had seen it all, Harriet Dart, 28, proved them wrong on Tuesday.

Dart, a British tennis player, ranked 110th in the world, was playing her Rouen Open match against World No. 303 French player, Lois Boisson.

What Harriet Dart Said And Then Apologized For Saying

During a changeover, Dart asked the chair umpire to tell Boisson to wear deodorant.

She lost the match 6-0, 6-3. Dart later issued a social media apology for her behavior.  The apology does not mention Boisson so it is not clear if she talked with her privately after the incident.

Lois Boisson Got The Last Laugh

Not only did Boisson, 21, win the match, but she also got the last laugh via social media.  Boisson tagged Dove, requesting a collaboration.

Dove sponsors several women on the WTA Tour, including Jasmine Paolini and Emma Navarro.

Kudos to Dart, a ten-year tennis pro, for taking responsibility for her actions, and to Boisson for handling the odd situation with grace, humor, and an eye for opportunity.

With the victory, Boisson advances to the Round of 16 and plays her next match on Thursday, April 17.  Elina Svitolina is the top seed in the tournament, and it marks the return of 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu to the WTA Tour after missing the entire season thus far with injuries and an emergency appendectomy.
