The Super Bowl national anthem length went OVER the 120.5 second prop set by sportsbooks for Jon Batiste’s rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner.

Super Bowl LIX is likely to be the most-watched renewal of the NFL’s curtain closer in history as the Philadelphia Eagles look to close out the Kansas City Chiefs.

Prop bets like the national anthem are a festivity for punters and the under 120.5 seconds was graded as a winner.

There is some controversy around the official time however as some bettors were paid out as winners who backed over 121 seconds.

Each sportsbook will take their own readings and they may all grade the bet differently, but the length looks to have been around 119.4 seconds.

The longest Super Bowl national anthem belongs to Alicia Keys who clocked two minutes and 36 seconds (156 seconds) in 2013.

The shortest Super Bowl anthem was by Neil Diamond, who sang in one minute and two seconds at Super Bowl 47 in 1987.

Sportsbooks like FanDuel offered prop bets relating to the anthem such as:

  • Length
  • Batiste performs the anthem with a piano
  • Length of last “brave” note sung by Batiste
  • First coach shown on broadcast during anthem
  • First QB shown on broadcast during anthem
  • Player or coach shown crying during the anthem

Despite his best efforts to make it as long as possible, Jon Batiste comfortably covered the under and its backers didn’t break a sweat.
