How Much Are Hotels Raising Their Rates for Oasis Reunion Gigs?

As Oasis gears up for their much-anticipated reunion tour, hotels are looking to cash in with price increases surrounding the concert dates. Our analysis of five hotels across five major cities compared prices for the concert date with those a week prior and a week later. Here’s what you need to know:
Overall Price Trends
Across all cities, hotel prices spiked significantly for concert dates, with an average increase of 111% compared to prices just a week earlier or later. Cardiff saw the steepest rise, but Manchester, Wembley, Edinburgh, and Dublin all experienced sharp increases, with concertgoers paying well above the usual rates for accommodation.
The top three price rises for individual gigs come relatively early in the tour:
- July 5th (Cardiff) – 199.35%
- July 4th (Cardiff) – 197.16%
- July 19th (Manchester) – 196.64%
Cardiff
As the first city on the tour, Cardiff saw some of the most extreme price hikes. Hotels increased their rates by an average of 198%, with The Parkgate Hotel showing a massive 319% jump, charging $3,278 for a night’s stay compared to $691 the week before. Other Cardiff hotels followed suit, making this city the most expensive stop on the tour for Oasis fans.
Manchester
Manchester experienced a significant price surge as well, with rates jumping by an average of 123.5%. Premier Inn Manchester (City Centre) saw one of the biggest jumps, up 141% for the concert night. While not as extreme as Cardiff, Manchester was still costly, with every hotel included in the analysis raising prices well beyond their usual rates.
Wembley
In Wembley, hotels saw steady price increases, with some reaching as high as 205% for the tour dates. However, many of the hotels were sold out during the weeks prior and after Oasis were in town. On average, hotels around the Wembley area saw a cost increase of 69.2% during the Oasis gigs.
The opening shows at Wembley on July 25th and 26th saw the most modest hotel price increases of 40.85% and 44.61% respectively.
Edinburgh & Dublin
Both Edinburgh and Dublin experienced price hikes, though slightly lower than Cardiff and Manchester. Edinburgh saw an increase of 112%. In Dublin, prices rose by 64.12%, making it the city with lowest price hikes during the Oasis concerts.
