The 2025 4 Nations Face-Off has been a resounding success.
This season, the NHL replaced the NHL All-Star Game with the 4-Nations Face-Off, a round-robin tournament featuring players from Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the United States.
Last Saturday night’s game between the United States and Canada became the most-watched non-Stanley Cup Final game since 2019. The USA vs. Canada broadcast averaged 4.4 million viewers, peaking at 5.2 million.
Despite being an exhibition, players on all four teams have taken this extremely seriously, adding to the event’s prestige and legacy.
When these two teams last met, there were three fights within the first nine seconds of the game.
After falling behind 1-0, Team USA scored three unanswered goals to win 3-1. This ended Canada’s 17-game win streak in best-on-best tournament play.
Team USA defenseman Charlie McAvoy has been ruled out with a shoulder injury. McAvoy is currently hospitalized with a right shoulder infection and an AC joint injury.
