2024 was a rough season for the Miami Dolphins. They finished with a losing 8-9 record and missed out on the playoffs after making two straight appearances, dealing with injuries and a large dip in offensive production. Individual performances were down, too, most notably from wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who failed to reach the 1,000 yard mark after posting 1,700+ yard seasons in each of the last two.

Tyreek Hill Says He Wants Out Of Miami

And based on his comments after Miami’s season-ending loss to the Jets, Hill’s time with the Dolphins may be coming to an end.

Things got off to an odd start when Hill was detained by police just hours before Miami’s Week 1 game against Jacksonville. He had a nice debut to the season by racking up 130 receiving yards in that contest, which wound up being just one of three 100+ yard performances of the year. It didn’t help that starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was in and out of the lineup, which was an obvious damper on the entire offense’s production.

But even when Hill was given his opportunities, he failed to show his patented breakaway speed and had some tough drops throughout the year.

So when he was asked on Sunday what the future held for him, he didn’t hold back with his thoughts:

“I have to do what’s best for me and my family — if that’s here or wherever the case may be. I’m about to open up that door for myself. … I’m out, bruh. It was great playing here but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career.”

Tyreek Hill still has two years left on his current deal, so any departure from Miami would have to be via trade or a release. He has a large dead cap hit tied into his contract, leaving a post-June 1st trade as one of the only viable options to get him to a new team.

Hill finished the season with 81 catches and 959 receiving yards. His 6 touchdowns was his lowest mark since his rookie year.
