Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami reportedly want to sign three UEFA Champions League-winning players to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Former Real Madrid duo Sergio Ramos and Keylor Navas, and ex-Barcelona winger Neymar are on the Herons’ radar.

The FIFA Club World Cup is coming in a brand new avatar in 2025. The governing body has chucked the seven-club format that had become the norm in the last few years, adding 25 more clubs to the mix. The new FIFA Club World Cup will now feature 32 best teams across the world and take place once every four years, just like the regular World Cup.

Additionally, the format is also identical to the World Cup, with 32 teams spread across eight groups of four, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the Round of 16. From then on, teams will battle it out in one-shot qualifiers all the way to the final. The tournament will take place in the United States between June 15, 2025, and July 13, 2025.

Inter Miami Wants to Bolster Squad with 3 UCL Winners Ahead of Club World Cup

Just like the host country automatically gets the opportunity to feature in the FIFA World Cup, Inter Miami is getting the shot to compete in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Since Messi and Co. captured the Supporters’ Shield, emerging as the best team across the regular season, FIFA has deemed the Vice City the perfect candidate to represent the US in the competition.

According to Fichajes.net, Miami is determined to produce a strong performance in the tournament and has identified three legendary players who could boost their chances of success.

First up is ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper Navas, who is without a club after running down his contract at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Miami is eager to sign a goalkeeper and sees the three-time UEFA Champions League winner as the perfect candidate to man the defense.

Staying on the topic of defense, former Real Madrid captain and four-time UEFA Champions League winner Ramos is also on Miami’s radar. The Spain international, who is also without a club since leaving Sevilla, could jump at the opportunity to play in such a big competition.

Last up is one of Messi and Luis Suarez’s closest friends, Neymar. The Brazilian is contractually tied to Al-Hilal, but according to rumors, the Saudi Pro League side could terminate his mega-deal owing to his poor fitness record. If Al-Hilal opens the door to the 2014-15 UEFA Champions League winner’s exit, Miami could be the first in line to lap him up.
