The 2025 NFL Draft began with fireworks, as the Jacksonville Jaguars traded up to No. 2 to select Colorado wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter.

Head coach Liam Coen and general manager James Gladstone made a huge splash in their first NFL Draft with Jacksonville.
The Jaguars traded the No. 5 pick, a 2025 second-round pick (No. 36), a 2025 fourth-round pick (No. 126), and a 2026 first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for the No. 2 pick, a 2024 fourth-round pick (No. 104), and a 2025 sixth-round pick (No. 200).
This was the first trade involving a 2025 first-round pick.
It’s a significant haul to land Hunter, the most dynamic player in the draft.
The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner was a full-time wide receiver and defensive back.
Hunter caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns. On defense, Hunter had four interceptions and 35 tackles.
Hunter’s durability and stamina might be his most impressive attribute, as he played an FBS-leading 1,481 snaps.

There were no surprises at the top of the draft, as Tennessee selected Miami’s Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick.
The Heisman finalist set Miami single-season records with 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns in 2024.
Ward was universally ranked as the top quarterback in this year’s class.
After Hunter, the New York Giants selected Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick.
Carter becomes the latest addition to New York’s stout defensive line, including Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Brian Burns.
Cleveland selected Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham with the No. 5 pick.
After Cleveland, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 pick.
Jeanty is one of the most prolific backs to come out of college. Jeanty led the country with 2,601 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns in 14 games.
