The Philadelphia Eagles and Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly discussing a Jalen Carter for Maxx Crosby trade.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ offseason just got more complicated.

The Eagles have reportedly made Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jalen Carter available in trade talks with the Las Vegas Raiders in pursuit of pass rusher Maxx Crosby, setting the stage for one of the most stunning roster moves of the 2026 offseason.

The Insider Scoop

The report comes from @RickeyScoops on X: “Hearing that the Eagles have made Jalen Carter available in their pursuit for Raiders Maxx Crosby.”

The Eagles were originally not thought to be in the running for Crosby, but their willingness to part with Carter changes the outlook significantly.

Carter is not a complementary piece. He is arguably the most dominant interior defensive tackle in football.

Selected ninth overall in 2023 out of Georgia, Carter has posted 13.5 sacks, 25 tackles for loss, and two Pro Bowl nods in three seasons, all while carrying a cap hit of just under $7 million. He is 25 years old with a Super Bowl ring. Trading him would be a jarring decision under any circumstances.

Why Would the Eagles Trade Carter?

Philadelphia has a glaring need at edge rusher after Jaelan Phillips is set to hit free agency, and Crosby is the most coveted pass rusher available.

A five-time Pro Bowler with double-digit sacks in each of the past four seasons, Crosby has never come close to winning a Super Bowl in Las Vegas. In fact, he’s made the playoffs just once and the Raiders have compiled a 46-71 record since he was drafted in 2019.

A champion Eagles team would be an attractive destination. Lane Johnson has already publicly teased the idea, tagging Crosby on X this week.

Why The Cap Math Favors Philadelphia

Eagles fans are not happy. “If they trade 25-year-old Jalen Carter for 29-year-old Maxx Crosby my page is going to be suspended,” one fan posted.

The math feels uncomfortable — a young DT on a rookie deal for a 29-year-old edge rusher on a $27M-per-year contract — but it actually adds up in the Eagles favor.

It’s a long-term play for the Eagles. Carter is in the final year of his rookie contract and has a team option for a fifth season at a $27 million cap hit. Meanwhile, a team that acquires Crosby via trade can enable a clause in his contract that drops his cap hit from $30.7 million to $7.73 million, according to Spotrac.

Factor in that Jordan Davis is also entering a contract year and Philadelphia would likely have to move on without one of their defensive stars on the interior.

Why Trust Intel From @RickyScoops?

RickeyScoops is not a credentialed reporter, but the account has a track record that demands attention.

The account broke the Micah Parsons trade to Green Bay before anyone else and correctly reported John Harbaugh’s move to the Giants ahead of the official announcement.

The most telling validation comes from The Athletic’s Ted Nguyen: “There are people in the league trying to hunt down Rickey. That should tell you all you need to know.”

When front office personnel are actively trying to identify a leaker, it means the intel is real.

While it’s not a done deal yet, with free agency opening March 11, Howie Roseman is always open for business.
