Jalen Ramsey Trade Rumors: 5 Teams Who Could Deal For Dolphins’ Cornerback

The Miami Dolphins are expected to part ways with future Hall of Fame cornerback Jalen Ramsey in the near future, according to Ian Rapoport. Several teams are expected to be interested in trading for Ramsey, but which landing spots are the best fit for the veteran cornerback? Here are five potential trade destinations for Ramsey if he’s traded before the 2025 NFL Draft.

Why Are The Miami Dolphins Trading Jalen Ramsey?

Both sides are set to mutually explore trade options ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, which is just nine days away. Miami owes Ramsey a fully guaranteed $25.1 million this season, which is a steep price for a team that doesn’t appear ready to compete for a Super Bowl. Of the $25 million left on his contract, the Dolphins have already paid Ramsey a $4 million roster bonus, meaning his next team will only be on the hook for approximately $21 million.

Top Landing Spots for Jalen Ramsey

Luckily for Ramsey, many teams need help in the secondary ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. This year’s incoming cornerback class is expected to be deep at the position. Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay have 10 cornerbacks being drafted in the first two rounds, but which teams could benefit more from Ramsey’s veteran presence than a rookie cornerback?

Below, we’ll break down the top contenders and most ideal landing spots for Jalen Ramsey, if he’s traded before the start of next season.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have needs in the secondary and are looking for some help to get over the hump in the NFL Playoffs. Ramsey could be the missing veteran piece to a young secondary and Baltimore hasn’t been afraid of taking on enigmatic personalities in the past.

The Ravens managed to get productive seasons out of Marcus Peters and Ramsey has still shown flashes as he approaches his 30s. Over the past four seasons, Ramsey has racked up 13 interceptions, which ranks in the top-10 in the NFL during that span.

Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings only have four picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, which could make dealing for Ramsey more complicated, depending on Miami’s asking price. Like other teams on this list, the Vikings have Super Bowl aspirations and a major need at the cornerback spot.

Byron Murphy Jr. is back but there are still question marks on the other side with the Vikings relying on Isaiah Rodgers and former No.3 pick Jeff Okudah, who has struggled to remain healthy during his NFL career.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are fresh off of a Super Bowl victory after signing another high-profile player in Saquon Barkley. GM Howie Roseman has a knack for getting the best of opposing teams when it comes to making a deal and acquiring Ramsey could fit the bill as a potential game-changing acquisition.

The Eagles let veteran cornerback Darius Slay walk in free agency, leaving Philadelphia with a young, inexperienced secondary. Philadelphia has four 5th-round picks, so it makes sense that they’d be willing to part ways with a draft selection or two to bolster their secondary with a win-now move.

Though Ramsey wasn’t fond of his previous stint with Vic Fangio, winning has a way of healing old wounds.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are fresh off of an impressive run to the NFL Playoffs in Jayden Daniels’ rookie season. Teams with a QB on a rookie contract tend to have more cap flexibility to take on salary at premium positions, so trading for Ramsey makes sense in this spot.

Washington has already shown a commitment to taking the next step by dealing for Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel but the defense still needs some work. Adding Ramsey to a secondary that already includes veteran Jonathan Jones and Marshon Lattimore could give the Commanders one of the most experience-laden groups in the NFL.

Jacksonville Jaguars

A reunion in Duval County would make for a full-circle moment in Ramsey’s career. The Jaguars are a team on the rise, and cornerback remains a huge need following a disappointing season. Ramsey’s departure from Jacksonville in 2019 wasn’t exactly on the best of terms, but adding a savvy, battle-tested vet could elevate the defense as a whole.
