Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz engaged in a two set slugfest at the 2025 ATP Finals.
Sinner’s game has always been at its best on the indoor hardcourts, and being home in Italy makes the conditions even better for him.
Though Alcaraz finishes the season as World No. 1 and enjoys his best finish at the ATP Finals, Sinner grabs the $5 million prize, 1,500 points, and back-to-back ATP Finals titles.
This rivalry is a growing and wonderful one for the sport, and barring injury, these two players will continue to compete at the highest level with the rest of the field working hard to catch up to them in short order.
“I hope you will be ready for next year because I will be ready.”

Those who say men’s tennis is boring do not enjoy the premier talent, strategy, sportsmanship, and friendship between these two athletes that have eased us into the post Big 3 era in outstanding fashion. Alcaraz is charismatic and won over fans by speaking Italian, and Sinner spoke Spanish for a similar reason during the fortnight.
The Precision Of Sinner On Hardcourts Is Unparalleled
Sinner was down a break in the second set and rallied with precise and beautiful shotmaking to overcome the deficit. The serve was not where he wanted it in the final, but he made up for it elsewhere in the game.
He finished the 2 1/4 hour match by jubilantly falling on his back with a 7-6, 7-5 win. Sinner went to his box and hugged some of the crying members of his team.

Alcaraz had his hamstring taped in the first set, but his movement did not appear impaired. His net game was not as good as usual, but that could have been indicative of the opponent on the other side of the net.
This is Sinner’s second win over Alcaraz this year. The other was at Wimbledon.
Sinner wins the ATP Finals for the second straight year.
This concludes the 2025 tennis season, but not for long. 2026 preseason preparations are already in the works for some players as the Australian Open is less than two months away, and the Summer Down Under begins in earnest with the United Cup on January 2.
