Winnipeg Jets captain Adam Lowry could be back on the ice in November according to Josh Erickson of Pro Hockey Rumors this past week. Lowry had hip surgery on May 27 after being eliminated by the Dallas Stars on May 17. The reason for the medical procedure was because of a recommendation by the Winnipeg Jets doctors. The surgery was a success and it is expected that Lowry will be on the ice in the five month time frame rather than the six month time frame.
Lowry in 2024-25
Lowry, a left winger, had 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points. He was a +18 with 28 penalty minutes, four game-winning goals, two shorthanded points, 99 shots on goal, 615 faceoff wins, 60 blocked shots, 140 hits, 20 takeaways, and 44 giveaways.
Lowry’s two shorthanded points
Lowry’s first shorthanded point in 2024-25 was a shorthanded assist and came in a 5-3 Jets win over the Calgary Flames on October 26. Lowry set up Kyle Connor of Shelby Township, Michigan with two minutes and 23 seconds left in the first period and put the Jets up 2-1 at the time.
Lowry’s second shorthanded point in 2024-25 was the only assist on an empty net goal by Jets center Morgan Barron of Halifax, Nova Scotia in a 6-3 Jets win over the eventual Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers on November 19. The goal put the Jets up 5-3 with one minute and 37 seconds left in the game. Â Remarkably, Barron completed the scoring 21 seconds later with another shorthanded goal. It was the two fastest shorthanded goals in Jets history.
Memorable postseason goal
You could make the argument Lowry scored one of the biggest goals for the Jets this past season. It came in  game seven in overtime in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Lowry scored from defenseman Neal Pionk of Omaha, Nebraska and Connor at 16:10 of the second overtime.
