The NFL has suspended Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison for violating the league’s substances of abuse policy. Find out how many games Addison will miss.

The Vikings will be without their No. 2 wide receiver for the beginning of the 2025 season.
The NFL has suspended Addison for three regular-season games, the league announced Tuesday.
Addison will miss the following games:
- Week 1: Vikings at Chicago Bears, Aug. 8
- Week 2: Atlanta Falcons at Vikings, Aug. 14
- Week 3: Cincinnati Bengals at Vikings, Aug. 21
Per the NFL, “Addison is permitted to participate in all training camp activities, including preseason games without restriction.” Once the regular season begins, Addison will be prohibited from entering the Vikings’ facility for three weeks.
Addison is eligible to return for the Vikings in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. That game will be played in Dublin, Ireland, as part of the NFL’s International Series.
The suspension stems from a 2024 DUI citation. In July 2024, Addison was charged with a DUI after a Los Angeles Police police officer found him asleep at the wheel in his car, which was blocking a lane of I-105 westbound near the Los Angeles International Airport.
Last month, Addison pleaded no contest to a lesser charge to resolve the situation. Addison’s plea agreement was a charge of wet reckless driving on a highway.
Addison will pay a $390 fine and receive 12 months of probation, which could be cut in half if he completes online coursework.
This is not Addison’s first time in trouble with the law. Addison pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor speeding charge after driving 140 mph on a Minnesota freeway in July 2023. Addison had to pay nearly $700 in fines.
Since being drafted by the Vikings in the first round in 2023, Addison has become the team’s No. 2 wide receiver behind Justin Jefferson.
Addison has 133 receptions for 1786 yards and 19 touchdowns in 32 games over two seasons.

Addison missing three games is not ideal for the Vikings’ offense, especially in J.J. McCarthy’s first season as the starter.
Jefferson is the clear No. 1 wide receiver. Despite suffering a hamstring injury, the former Offensive Player of the Year should be ready to go in Week 1.
With Addison on the shelf for three games, head coach Kevin O’Connell needs to find a No. 2 receiver.
Jalen Nailor is the obvious pick. Nailor, the Vikings’ No. 3 receiver, is coming off a career season with 28 receptions for 414 yards and six touchdowns. The former sixth-round pick will likely take Addison’s place for the first three weeks of the season.
Other wide receivers on the roster include Rondale Moore, Lucky Jefferson, Tim Jones, and rookie Tai Felton.
