First reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, the Patriots are sending Uche to the Chiefs for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
On Sunday, Uche was a healthy scratch for the Patriots. New England picked up a 25-22 victory over the New York Jets.
The Patriots selected Uche out of Michigan in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Uche’s best year came in 2022, when he registered 11.5 sacks.
Uche, 26, has two sacks through seven games this season.
Uche signed a one-year, $3 million contract to remain with the Patriots in the offseason. He will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.

The Chiefs add another pass rusher to an excellent defense.
Kansas City’s defense ranks fifth in yards (295.0), third in rushing yards (82.3), and fifth in scoring defense (17.6).
Uche joins George Karlaftis, Mike Danna, and Felix Anudike-Uzomah as the Chiefs’ defensive ends.
Last week, Kansas City acquired DeAndre Hopkins in a deal with the Tennessee Titans.
The Chiefs (7-) are the NFL’s lone unbeaten team. They host Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football in Week 9.
