Kansas City Chiefs Docuseries In The Works

The Chiefs are receiving the docuseries treatment.

The six-episode ESPN Original Series will follow the Chiefs’ 2024 season and chronicle the franchise’s illustrious six-decade history.

The docuseries is expected to premiere on ESPN and Disney+ later this year.

“ESPN and Disney+ know that sports fans are interested in stories that take them beyond the X’s and O’s, and this series will explore the legacy of the Chiefs franchise while also showcasing the emotional highs and lows of building a championship-winning team,” said Burke Magnus, president of content, ESPN. “From the brilliance of Patrick Mahomes to the leadership of Andy Reid and the passion of Chiefs Kingdom, this project will showcase the drama, intensity, and heart that make this team a global phenomenon.”

Over the last six seasons, the Chiefs have experienced an unprecedented run as a franchise. Kansas City has appeared in five Super Bowls, including three wins.

The original documentary series was filmed throughout the 2024 season and captured the team’s franchise-record-breaking 15-2 regular season record.

Kansas City ended up losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

The docuseries will follow the current team while weaving in storylines about 65-year history, from its days in Dallas to the eventual move to Kansas City.

The series will feature in-depth interviews with players, coaches, and other key figures. Plus, rare photos and videos will be shown thanks to exclusive access to the organization’s archives.
