Free-agent wide receiver Keenan Allen could reunite with the Los Angeles Chargers. Find out the latest update on Allen below.

The Chargers might sign a familiar face at wide receiver.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, Allen is visiting with the Chargers on Friday to discuss a potential reunion. Allen remains unsigned after spending last season with the Chicago Bears.
Allen’s age (33) is one of the factors why he remains unsigned. However, reports of Allen’s downfall are not accurate.
The veteran receiver put up respectable numbers in Chicago despite catching passes from a rookie quarterback — Caleb Williams — and playing for a dysfunctional franchise that fired multiple coaches, including the offensive coordinator.
Allen registered 70 receptions for 744 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games last season.
Before Chicago, Allen played for 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, the same team that drafted him in 2013.
Allen made six Pro Bowls with the Chargers and won the 2017 NFL Comeback Player of the Year.
One player who would be happy to throw passes to Allen is Justin Herbert. From 2020 through 2023, Allen caught 380 receptions for 4,125 yards and 25 touchdowns from Herbert.
Allen’s final season in Los Angeles (2023) was one of his best. Allen made 108 receptions for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games.
At this stage of free agency, the Chargers could sign Allen to a team-friendly deal for one year. It’s a low-risk, high-reward for a wide receiver that already has a rapport with the star quarterback.

After one season, Ladd McConkey grabbed the title of Chargers’ No. 1 wide receiver.Â
As a rookie, McConkey made 82 receptions for 1,149 yards and seven touchdowns. McConkey should improve upon those numbers now that he’s had one year to gel with Herbert.
Mike Williams was slated to be the No. 2 wide receiver. The Chargers put Williams on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) ahead of training camp. However, Williams elected to retire instead of rehabbing and rushing back to the field.
Quentin Johnston, the former 2023 first-round pick, will be in the mix for the No. 2 and No. 3 wide receiver positions. Despite his ill-timed drops (7 in 2024), Johnston set career highs in receptions (55), yards (711), and touchdowns (8).
Jalen Reagor and rookies Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith will also be in the mix to catch balls from Herbert.
