Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is dealing with injuries to his back and knee. Will the two-time MVP play in Week 9?

Lamar Jackson Missed Thursday’s Practice

Jackson missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday.

Head coach John Harbaugh said he gave Jackson a “rest” day on Wednesday. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken confirmed Jackson’s absence from Thursday’s practice.

“I mean, it is what it is,” Monken told reporters via Jamison Hensley. “Josh (Johnson) can use the work. That’s what you do. You get prepared for it, like any other position.”

Jackson is expected to play for the Ravens (5-3) on Sunday against the Denver Broncos (5-3).

Baltimore Ravens Coming Off Tough Loss

After losing their first two games, Baltimore rattled off five consecutive wins.

However, the Cleveland Browns ended the Ravens’ win streak in Week 8 with a 29-24 victory.

Despite the loss, Jackson played well, completing 23 of 38 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson also rushed for 46 yards on eight carries.

Through eight games, Jackson looks like an MVP candidate once again. Jackson is fifth in passing yards (2,099) and second in passing touchdowns (17). Jackson has also rushed for 501 yards and two touchdowns.
