Three scuba divers sit in a pod and wait.

Woody Harrelson plays a deep-sea diver executing a rescue mission for a missing crewmate in Last Breath. Below are the predictions and odds for Last Breath’s opening weekend box office.

What Is Last Breath About?

“I’m not losing a diver today,” Harrelson’s Duncan Allcock says in the Last Breath trailer.

Duncan Allcock, David Yuasa (Simu Liu), and Chris Lemons (Finn Cole) are three divers working to repair an oil rig 300 feet below the surface of the North Sea.

What should be a routine job transforms into a disaster when Chris is left behind and stranded on the seafloor.

With his umbilical lifeline severed, Chris has minutes to live before he runs out of oxygen and dies.

Refusing to let a fellow diver perish, Duncan organizes an improbable rescue mission to save Chris before it’s too late.

Last Breath is based on the incredibly true story of the 2012 saturation diving accident in the North Sea.

Alex Parkinson directs Last Breath from a screenplay by Mitchell LaFortune, Parkinson, and David Brooks. Parkinson co-directed the documentary the movie is based on with Richard da Costa.

Last Breath opens in theaters on February 28, 2025.

Despite being an inspiring movie with a motivational message, Last Breath might sink at the box office.

Polymarket has Last Breath projected to open between $3 million and $6 million (-233).

Last Breath could overperform due to the lack of new movies this weekend. Captain America: Brave New World and The Monkey are the two holdovers competing with Last Breath.
