What Is Love Hurts About?
Quan stars as Marvin Gable, a successful realtor in the Milwaukee suburbs.
Marvin holds a dark secret. He once worked as a hitman. However, he left that line of work years ago.
That is until the present day, as Rose (Ariana DeBose), his former partner he left for dead, shows up at his door. Rose needs his help taking down Knuckles (Daniel Wu), a ruthless crime lord who happens to be Marvin’s brother.
As the trailer states, “You can’t break up with your past.” All habits are tough to break, and Marvin must rely on his combat skills to help Rose and save the day.
Love Hurts’ ensemble includes Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch, Mustafa Shakir, Lio Tipton, Rhys Darby, André Eriksen, and Sean Astin.
Jonathan Eusebio directs Love Hurts from a screenplay by Matthew Murray, Josh Stoddard, and Luke Passmore. 87North’s David Leitch and Kelly McCormick (Bullet Train, The Fall Guy) produce alongside Guy Danella.
Love Hurts opens on February 7, 2025.
