Luka Doncic Spent Over $340K On 103 E-Bikes For Lakers Teammates, Staff

Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic purchased hundreds of electric bikes for teammates and staff members, head coach JJ Redick revealed after Tuesday’s practice.

“He got everybody in basketball ops, I think it was 103 total gifts,” Redick said. “It’s a very, very high-end e-bike.
So, I’ll be excited to drive that down to the beach, looking forward to it. Very nice gesture from him. The guys all really, really enjoyed it.”

In fact, players received the Pedal All Wheel Drive S, a high-end e-bike, retailing roughly $3,350. Staff members were gifted the lighter Pedal H T model, priced at about $2,250.

This means Doncic spent at least $340,000 on the e-bikes.

In a video posted to the Lakers’ X account, Doncic was filmed riding around outside the UCLA Health Training Center. Jaxson Hayes, Marcus Smart, and Rui Hachimura were all surprised.

Based on the team’s injury history, the players better be careful.

Luka Doncic Building Team Chemistry

This is not the first time Doncic has shared his wealth with Lakers teammates. Back in October, the five-time All-Star guard gifted his Purple-and-Gold buddies his new “Luka 4” signature shoes.

In February, Doncic also donated $500,000 through his charitable foundation to aid in the recovery efforts from the wildfires that affected Los Angeles.

“It’s been so sad to see and learn more about the damage from the wildfires since I landed in L.A,” he said in a statement. “I can’t believe it and I feel for all the kids who lost their homes, schools, and the places where they used to play with their friends.”

Through 19 appearances (all starts) this season, Doncic is averaging a career-high 34.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 37.3 minutes per outing while shooting 46% from the field and 32.4% from deep.

Doncic became the only player in NBA history other than Wilt Chamberlain to put up 40 points in three straight games to open the season. Chamberlain did it twice: seven straight games in 1962-63 and five straight in 1961-62.

However, that record was set after Donic had already made Lakers history by posting 92 points through the first two games to begin the season, shattering Jerry West’s 56-year franchise record of 81.
