Mark Sanchez will not return as an analyst at Fox Sports following his altercation in Indianapolis last month. Who will replace Sanchez in the booth?

What Happened to Mark Sanchez?

Per TMZ Sports, Sanchez is out at Fox Sports.

“We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network,” a Fox Sports spokesperson said in a statement. “There will be no further comment at this time.”

On Oct. 4, Sanchez was in Indianapolis to call the Colts vs. the Las Vegas Raiders game.

Sanchez confronted a truck driver near the Westin Hotel. Sanchez allegedly attacked and injured the 69-year-old man. In return, the man stabbed Sanchez in an act of self-defense.

Sanchez was in critical condition and required immediate medical care in a nearby hospital.

Prosecutors have charged Sanchez with one count of felony battery involving serious bodily injury, in addition to three misdemeanor charges, with one being public intoxication.

If convicted, Sanchez could face several years in prison.

Sanchez’s trial date is scheduled for Dec. 11, though prosecutors believe it will be delayed.

The former New York Jets quarterback has declined to address the allegations. Instead, Sanchez said he was focusing on his recovery.

Nick Sanchez Jr., Mark’s brother, shared a statement with TMZ Sports: “It’s been a long month for Mark as he continues to recover from serious injuries while also grieving the loss of a close friend. While the recent news — and its timing — is understandably disappointing, our priority remains his continued healing and recovery. Mark deeply values his time at FOX and the exceptional colleagues he’s had the privilege to work with. Those relationships are meaningful and will endure.”

Sanchez has been off the air since the incident. Foz Sports analysts Mark Schlereth and Brady Quinn have filled in for Sanchez in his absence.

Who Will Replace Mark Sanchez at Fox?

Fox Sports has already moved quickly to find Sanchez’s replacement.

Super Bowl-winning quarterback Drew Brees has joined Fox Sports as an analyst for NFL games, the company announced on Friday.

Brees will join Fox’s team of Adam Amin and Kristina Pink for the remainder of the 2025 season.

“I appreciate the opportunity FOX has given me in the booth and with their team,” Brees said. “I hope my passion for this game is reflected in the knowledge and insights I provide to the fans each Sunday.”

Brees will call his first game for Fox in Week 11.

This is Brees’ second broadcasting opportunity. Brees worked for NBC Sports in 2021. His tenure was extremely polarizing, with many believing that Brees needed more practice before joining the booth.

Brees now gets a second chance with Fox.
