There hasn’t been much for the Miami Dolphins and their fans to celebrate this season. But after beating the division rival Buffalo Bills for the first time in over three years on Sunday, spirits are high for at least the next few days, and head coach Mike McDaniel took a victory lap at the expense of some visiting fans after the game.
Dolphins Win, Coach Takes A Victory Lap To Mock Bills Fans
The Elbo Room is an infamous landmark in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is where the Florida Panthers have celebrated the last two Stanley Cup Championships, doubling as both a sports and beach bar on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
It is also the site of the annual “Bills Mafia Takeover”. Every year when the Bills are in town to take on the Dolphins, hundreds of their fans gather at the Elbo Room for drinks and camaraderie, and it becomes the official site for out-of-town fans to mingle throughout the weekend. It was no different in 2025, as crowds spilled into the street on both Saturday and Sunday, draped in their red and blue colors to support their team.

The scene wasn’t as jubilant as they would have hoped when the actual game started. In what was predicted to be a blowout win for the Bills, they were instead upset by the 2–7 Dolphins in a game that ended in a 30-13 rout. Buffalo struggled on both sides of the ball in the contest, and wound up losing to Miami for just the second time since 2018.
McDaniel Takes Detour, Visits Elbo Room
Hours after the game ended, some members of Bills Mafia still lingered at the location as the evening games were taking place. And based on at least one instance of photo evidence, McDaniel took a detour on the way home. It appears as though the Dolphins’ head coach drove by the establishment just before sunset, and it is assumed that he did so in order to troll the fans of the opposing team.

It is a bold move for a coach that entered the season on the hot seat. At one point, it was apparent that the 4th-year leader had lost the locker room early in the schedule, but the team has bounced back in recent weeks by picking up a couple of impressive wins. Doing any kind of trolling with a 3-7 record may be considered preemptive, but that didn’t stop McDaniel from letting his personality show.
The Dolphins will travel to Spain next week to take on the Washington Commanders. That contest will be followed with a bye week.
