Milestone Watch: Steph Curry Needs Just 52 Three-Pointers To Reach 4K For His Career

Warriors guard Steph Curry is far and away the best three-point shooter that has ever played in the NBA, racking up nearly 900 more makes than the person with the second-most makes ever. Some time within the next month or so, he could be reaching a milestone that many believed to be an impossible achievement, as he is just a handful of three-point makes away from 4,000 in his career.
When Will Steph Curry Hit The 4,000 Mark?
It was just a little more than three years ago when Curry passed Ray Allen on the all-time list. Allen finished his career with 2,973 three-pointers made, better than 400 more than Reggie Miller, who had held the top spot previously. The milestone cemented Curry as the greatest shooter in the history of the game, and he was still rewriting the history books, as he was 33 years old with plenty of career ahead of him.
The 4k mark seemed achievable if he were to keep on a similar trajectory, and that day has come just 38 months later.
Entering the 2025 All-Star break, Steph Curry has racked up 3,948 three pointers made in his career. This season, he is averaging 4.4 makes per game, doing so at a 39% clip. If he were to keep on the same pace, it would take him about 12 games to reach the 4,000 plateau, which means that it would happen sometime during the second or third week of March.

It seems like a nationally televised game in a prime-time Saturday slot would be the optimal time to reach the milestone. The 12th game for the Warriors after the All-Star break is a home contest against the New York Knicks on March 15th, which will be played at 5:30PT and is set to air on ABC. The team’s previous game against the Kings is a nationally televised one, too, as is the one that follows the contest against the Knicks, which is a home matchup against the Nuggets.
You can bet on when Steph Curry will reach the 4,000 three-pointer achievement. The games against the Knicks and Nuggets come in tied as the favorites at +400, but the March 18th contest against the Bucks could hold the best value at +500. There is a chance that Curry misses a game or two over the next month, which could push the date back.
Golden State is currently 28-27, and are in 10th place in the Western Conference standings.
