MLB Playoffs Same Game Parlay: Red Sox vs. Yankees – It’s an October elimination game between the Sox and Yanks in the Bronx. What more do you need?Â
Thursday’s Game 3 of the Wild Card Series pits the Red Sox vs the Yankees in a winner-take-all in the Bronx. The Sox took game one on Tuesday, 3-1, behind a dominant performance from Garrett Crochet. The Yanks evened up the series last night after the Red Sox squandered a few chances to end the Yankees’ bid to return to the World Series for a second straight season.
Both squads will send a rookie to the mound with seasons on the line. The Red Sox send fireballing lefty Connelly Early, making just his fifth career start, but it’s against a lineup that has really struggled against lefties as of late. Early has punched out 29 hitters in just 19.1 innings in 2025 to the tune of a 2.33 ERA.
The Yankees will hand the ball to Cam Schlittler, who has a bit more experience than Early, as this will be his 15th career start. Schlittler logged 73 innings in 2025 with a 2.96 ERA and 84 strikeouts. He did surrender 31 walks.
The Sox are young but are without two of their best young bats. Both Roman Anthonty and Marcelo Mayer have missed the last month of the season and could not get back in time to make the Wild Card roster. It feels like the Red Sox have such a great young core, with a perennial Cy Young-contending ace, that this season is essentially house money. Just making the playoffs has been a great achievement, considering their struggles over the last few seasons. But now that they have a chance to send their bitter rivals home for the year, you know they want it.
Connelly Early flashed some ace type potential in his first taste of major league action this season.

The Yankees are built to win now. And after getting completely outplayed by the Dodgers in last year’s World Series, they’re desperate to get back to the Fall Classic and complete their mission. I think there is a bit more pressure on the Yankees and specifically on Aaron Boone. This team was supposed to win the AL East, and they couldn’t get it done. A first-round exit would be a massive disappointment for a team with World Series aspirations.
Let’s jump into this Red Sox vs. Yankees same game parlay.
MLB Playoffs Same Game Parlay: Red Sox vs. Yankees
Leg 1: Red Sox Moneyline +135
-
This is simple for me. The Sox just have nothing to lose. They have a young core that will make them a perennial contender in the AL East and the AL. They’re a year early.
-
The Yankees just don’t have the same lineup against a lefty. Boone leaves out Ben Rice and moves Trent Grisham down in the order. Early could really make things tough on this lineup.
Leg 2: Connolly Early Over 3.5 StrikeoutsÂ
- Early has struck out 11,7,4, and 7 in his four career starts. I understand that Cora may have an early leash with the young lefty, but I trust in his ability.

This same game parlay leans into Connolly’s dominance early and ties it directly to Boston’s chances in a do-or-die game. If Connolly racks up strikes early, it suppresses the Yankees’ offense, tilts control toward Boston, and strengthens the moneyline leg. The pairing is a classic correlated build for a short series; it doesn’t ask for gaudy totals, just execution in the right frames.
