With the NFL trade deadline approaching, one of the names being mentioned is Myles Garrett. Would the Cleveland Browns trade their superstar defensive end?

Myles Garrett Comments On Trade Rumors

As NFL analysts and media members continue to generate fake trades and rumors for the Browns stars, Garrett finally addressed the speculation on Friday. In his words, Garrett believes he’ll be a member of the Browns.

“I’ll be playing here,” Garrett told reporters on Friday via Mary Cay Cabot.

It’s going to take a significant haul to acquire a player like Garrett. The Browns probably won’t pick up the phone unless multiple draft picks, including a first, are in the deal.

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer said another team will need to make a “Godfather” offer to get Garrett.

“In the case of Garrett, it’d take a real Godfather offer for the Browns to consider a move—and even then, I don’t think one is likely,” Breer wrote. “But after going through a couple of drafts with less capital, as a result of the Deshaun Watson trade, it’d make some sense to load up, especially if drafting a quarterback could be in play in April.

Garrett, 28, is the NFL’s reigning defensive player of the year. The Browns’ pass rusher has four sacks and 17 tackles this season.

Myles Garrett Trade Destinations

The obvious team for Garrett is the Detroit Lions. Detroit is in win-now mode, with a Super Bowl-caliber roster capable. The Lions lost Aidan Hutchinson to a season-ending leg injury.

Adding Garrett to their roster would make them the prohibited favorite in the NFC.

Staying in the NFC North, the Chicago Bears could trade for Garrett to pair him next to Montez Sweat, a player they acquired at last year’s deadline.

With Caleb Williams on a rookie contract, the Bears should be bulking up their roster elsewhere to take advantage of this window.

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 5, at 4 p.m. ET.
