The Los Angeles Rams saw their season end in disappointing fashion on Sunday night, and they are likely to lose their offensive coordinator as well. Mike LaFleur, who has been with the team since 2023, is getting a second interview for the head coaching position for the Arizona Cardinals, and he is the heavy favorite heading into the week.
Mike LaFleur Favored To Be Hired As Cardinals Head Coach
According to the oddsmakers at BetOnline, LaFleur currently holds a -200 designation on the betting board. Those are implied odds of better than 66%, making him the clear front-runner.
LaFleur is a part of the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree. He followed his mentor from Cleveland, where he started as an offensive intern, to Atlanta, and eventually to San Francisco. In 2021, He landed the job of offensive coordinator with the New York Jets, where he remained for two seasons.

LaFleur was brought on to Sean McVay’s staff in 2023. His offenses ranked 7th, 15th, and 1st in the league in his three seasons, and they led the league in both yards and points in 2025. His success has led to teams with head coaching vacancies show interest in him, and he has already completed interviews with both the Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders.
Arizona is starting what will likely be a full turnover this offseason. Once they secure a head coach, their focus will likely turn to their quarterback situation, and what to do with Kyler Murray. There aren’t many solid replacement options this year, with both the free agent and draft classes light on QB talent, so the new hire will have his work cut out for him.
There are other options on the betting board, of course. Anthony Campanile is one of the hot young candidates this cycle, thanks to his work as defensive coordinator of the Jaguars. He is listed at +145 to land the Cardinals job, with former Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver coming in at +275.
Other long shot candidates include Klint Kubiac (+750) and Raheem Morris (+1600).
